6 But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. - 2 Corinthians 9:6-8

GIVING / TITHING How are we to give? ⦁ Sacrificially (we do not tip God) ⦁ Proportionately (1 Cor 16:1-3) ⦁ Gladly and generously (2 Cor. 8-9) ⦁ The best of what we have (Romans 12:1) OBEDIENCE When we hear the word of God and see that Scripture is very clear about giving our resources, we will respond. Most of us want to do the right thing and please God. I believe we have shied VISION Whether it’s tangible, intangible, short-term or long-term, people give to a preferred future. People are longing to make a difference, and giving towards vision gives them a way to accomplish that. RELATIONSHIPS We believe in creating environments throughout the year (retreats, lunches, meeting, etc) where people can connect relationally with our staff team and each other. The more relational currency we build up, the better chance we have to see how our blessings can be shared with others. Why should I give? ⦁ Because all I have is God’s, I am only a manager of His resources. (Luke 16:1-9) ⦁ We are held accountable for how we use our lives and our possessions (Romans 14:12; 2 Cor 5:10; Matt. 14:30) ⦁ My heart is attached to my treasure – beyond my needs, you see what I treasure by how I spend my money ⦁ Giving shapes my heart ⦁ It shows my appreciation to God ⦁ We give because He gave to us (2Cor. 8:9, 9:15; Gen 4:4) ⦁ It is all grace to us. We give b/c we are blessed, not to get blessed ⦁ We are to give the first fruits (Prov. 3:9) ▲TOP
